As the watcher watches Arieh rises, and conquers the darkening sky. Arieh with bright star Denebola, the judge who comes, and brighter star Regulus, rendering Hydra, the snake the abhorred – all judged by star Alphard, and sentenced to be vanquished and put out of the way. Behind cloud sky Crater, the cup of wrath spilled, and Corvus, raven, scavenger, bird of prey, with the star Minchar Alsugia, the deceiver torn to pieces.
Konar's work is both light and dark in subject, approaching at every turn both the whimsical and the mischievous. He uses the canvas as a stage to capture moments of love and heroism, as well as times of human folly. His characters come from real life, from songs, from poems and from stories. All the stories take place under a starry sky with the drama of the constellations.
